Forsaken
The Forsaken are mutated organisms created by infection from the Forsaken Virus.
When living organisms become infected, the virus rapidly alters their bodies, transforming them into aggressive and hostile creatures. These infected beings are collectively referred to as the Forsaken.
The spread of the Forsaken played a major role in the global event known as The Collapse.
Origin
The Forsaken are created when a living organism becomes infected by the Forsaken Virus.
Once infected, the virus begins rapidly mutating the host's biological structure. The infection spreads throughout the body, altering tissue and bone while reshaping the organism into a new form.
The final result is a hostile creature driven by instinct rather than normal behavior.
Behavior
Forsaken are known for their aggressive and unpredictable behavior.
They commonly inhabit the ruins of the surface world and are frequently encountered throughout abandoned sections of the city. Their presence makes much of the surface extremely dangerous for survivors.
Forsaken activity is one of the primary threats faced by Runners during surface operations.
Environment
Forsaken are most commonly found in the ruins of the old world following The Collapse.
Infected growths linked to the virus can often be seen spreading across buildings, streets, and other surfaces within these areas. These environments are often heavily contaminated by the infection.
Relation to Survivors
Surviving human populations largely remain inside The Underground to avoid encounters with the Forsaken.
Travel to the surface is limited primarily to organized scavenging missions carried out by Runners.
